Artist's Statement-2008

I was born in the city of York , England . I attended the Slade School of Fine Art, London .

I came to New York City to study the Certificate and Master of Fine Art Program at The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. In my work I respond to the urban environment. The architecture and social interactions within the city are of great interest to me.

I use mixed media to build a surface of marks in response to the most significant forms I see. My source material consists of newspaper imagery and memory. My current home is Harlem ; this continues to be the most powerful influence in my Art.
